Bomb threat forces full evacuation of Jackson Premium Outlets

JACKSON, NJ — Shoppers and staff were forced to evacuate the Jackson Premium Outlets on Thursday after police received a report of a possible explosive device on the property, according to a statement from the Jackson Police Department.

Officers cleared the entire shopping center as a precaution while a full investigation into the threat was underway. Authorities confirmed there were no injuries reported during the evacuation.

“We are currently investigating a report of an explosive device at the Jackson Premium Outlets that resulted in officers having to entirely evacuate the property of all employees and patrons,” the department said in a public alert posted online.

Police emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that no individuals will be permitted on the property until further notice. Law enforcement did not provide any additional details on the nature of the threat or how it was received.

As of Thursday afternoon, the property remained closed to the public with officers securing the scene. No explosive device had been located, but investigators continued to sweep the area.
