Brick Republican Club Silencing and Censoring Criticism Online, Republican Residents Say

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ (Press release by Team Brick)— Team Brick is calling on the Brick Republican Club to stop blocking local Republicans from its Facebook page and to commit to open, transparent communication with all registered Republicans in Brick Township.

Team Brick has received reports from followers, including members of the Brick Republican Club, that Republicans are once again being blocked from seeing updates, posts, announcements, and information from the local party organization simply because they disagree, ask questions, or are not viewed as part of the club’s inner circle.

This comes after Marc Vasquez publicly called for Republican unity.

“Republican unity cannot mean blocking Republicans from basic information about their own local party,” a Team Brick spokesperson said. “If the Brick Republican Club wants unity, it should start by opening the door, not shutting people out. Blocking Republicans from seeing updates about the club, local candidates, meetings, and party activity is not transparency. It is gatekeeping.”

Team Brick believes Brick Township Republicans deserve open communication, honest leadership, and a local Republican organization that welcomes debate instead of hiding from it. Local Republican voters should not have to agree with club leadership in order to receive updates about what is happening inside the Brick GOP.

The issue is especially concerning because local Republican clubs play an important role in informing voters, supporting candidates, organizing meetings, and communicating with residents. When members or local Republicans are blocked from official or semi-official communication channels, it creates the appearance of a closed political circle protecting itself instead of serving the broader Republican community.

Team Brick does not block people simply because they disagree.

Residents are free to question Team Brick, criticize Team Brick, challenge its ideas, and still see what Team Brick is doing. That is how open political communication should work in Brick Township.

“Brick Republicans deserve better than a closed-door club culture,” the Team Brick spokesperson said. “If you are a Republican in Brick Township, you should not be blocked from receiving local GOP updates because someone in leadership does not like your opinion. That is not how we build a stronger party. That is how we divide it.”

Team Brick is calling on Brick Republicans, Brick Republican Club members, and concerned residents to respectfully contact the Brick Republican Club and ask them to stop blocking Republicans, restore access to members and local voters, and commit to a transparent communication policy.
