Brick Township welcomes two new special law enforcement officers to the force

BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Two new Class I Special Law Enforcement Officers joined the ranks of the Brick Township Police Department during a swearing-in ceremony led by Chief David Forrester and Mayor Lisa Crate.

Officers Ryan Olsen (#S186) and Vincent Jimenez (#S187) took their oaths of office this week, officially beginning their service to the community.

Both graduates of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Academy of Law and Public Safety, the new officers bring prior experience from law enforcement roles in nearby shore towns.

SLEOs serve key community support roles

Special Law Enforcement Officers (SLEOs) are instrumental in supplementing public safety operations throughout Brick Township. Their duties include assisting with the booking and lodging of prisoners, supporting patrol officers during major events such as SummerFest, and maintaining order along the beachfront through ATV patrols.

Enhancing safety across Brick Township

In addition to patrol work, SLEOs enforce parking regulations and manage traffic flow during vehicle collisions and other emergencies. Officials said these responsibilities help ensure the department maintains strong community coverage, especially during high-traffic seasons.

A commitment to service and community

Township officials commended both officers for their dedication and readiness to serve. Residents were encouraged to welcome Olsen and Jimenez as they begin their assignments supporting full-time officers and enhancing safety throughout Brick Township.
