BRICK, N.J. – Donna Capper, a cornerstone of the Brick Township Police Department’s communications division, has retired after 35 years of service, marking the end of a groundbreaking career in local public safety.
Capper made township history as the first Supervising Public Safety Telecommunicator, a role in which she led and trained countless dispatchers who went on to become the backbone of emergency response in Ocean County. Her colleagues gathered this week to honor her career, reflecting on her steady leadership and deep commitment to the community she served.
The department credited Capper with setting the professional standard for its communications center, managing emergency calls with precision, and providing guidance during critical incidents that tested the town’s emergency infrastructure.
“Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to public safety have left a lasting impact on our department and community,” the Brick Township Police Department said in a public statement.
