A verbal dispute on a Bronx street escalated into a violent slashing, leaving a woman injured and a suspect on the run.

Bronx, NY – Police are searching for a suspect accused of slashing a woman in the back of the neck during an assault Friday evening in the Bronx.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:27 p.m. in front of 395 East 167th Street within the confines of the 44th Precinct. According to the NYPD, a 29-year-old woman was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified man when the confrontation turned violent.

Authorities said the suspect displayed a knife and slashed the victim before fleeing westbound on foot toward Clay Avenue.
