Bronx Man Charged in Connection with Manhattan Homicide

July 11, 2024

Chad Irish, a 55-year-old man from the Bronx, has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and concealment of a human corpse following a disturbing discovery in Manhattan.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 4:53 PM, police responded to a report of a suspicious package in front of 207 East 27th Street, within the confines of the 13th Precinct. Upon their arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive woman inside a plastic bag. Emergency Medical Services pronounced her deceased at the scene. An examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later identified the woman as 31-year-old Yazmeen Williams of Manhattan and confirmed her death was a homicide, caused by a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident, which was officially ruled a homicide on July 7, 2024, led to the subsequent arrest of Irish. The case is ongoing, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
