BRONX, N.Y. – Police are searching for a suspect identified as 30-year-old Ehinel Troncoso, accused of fatally shooting a man early New Year’s Day in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, authorities said.
According to investigators, the incident occurred around 6:50 a.m. near Morris Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway, within the 46th Precinct. Police say Troncoso discharged a firearm, striking a 55-year-old man in the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have identified Troncoso as the suspect in the case and are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his location. Officials have not disclosed a possible motive, and the investigation remains active.
NYPD officers have increased patrols in the surrounding area as part of their ongoing effort to locate Troncoso. The department is asking residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings immediately.
