Brooklyn, NY – A late-night assault in Brooklyn left a 68-year-old man with serious injuries after he was punched to the ground by an unidentified attacker who fled the scene. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning at a busy intersection, prompting an ongoing search by police.

According to the NYPD, the attack happened around 12:25 a.m. near Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue within the confines of the 78 Precinct. Authorities said the victim was approached by an unknown individual before the situation quickly turned violent.

Victim suffers fractures after sudden attack

Police said the suspect punched the man in the face, causing him to fall and sustain significant injuries. “A 68-year-old male victim was approached by an unidentified individual. The individual punched the victim in the face causing him to fall to the ground and sustain multiple lacerations and fractures,” NYPD Crimestoppers stated.

The attacker fled the area on foot immediately after the assault, heading in an unknown direction. “The unidentified individual fled the location on foot to parts unknown,” police said.
