Buffalo man charged after early morning stabbing on St. James Place

BUFFALO, NY – A Cheektowaga man has been arrested following a stabbing that left three men injured early Saturday morning on St. James Place, according to the Buffalo Police Department.

At approximately 3:39 a.m. on February 7, 2026, officers from the D District responded to reports of a stabbing and found three males suffering from apparent stab wounds. All three victims were transported by AMR to ECMC for treatment.

Investigators say the violence stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two women that escalated overnight. According to police, one woman repeatedly appeared at the other’s residence, sending threatening messages throughout the night. When she returned a second time with several others, a confrontation broke out, during which a man allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed three people.

The victims were identified as a 20-year-old male from Sloan and a 22-year-old male from Cheektowaga, both of whom sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect also suffered a laceration to his wrist and was treated at ECMC.

The suspect, identified as Jayden Morgan, 23, of Cheektowaga, has been charged with two counts of Assault in the First Degree (class B felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (class A misdemeanor).

Police said the investigation into the early-morning incident remains active and that additional charges may be filed as detectives continue to review evidence and witness statements.
