Three suspects escaped on foot after deputies used stop sticks to disable a fleeing vehicle following a burglary investigation in Calvert County.
DUNKIRK, MD — Three burglary suspects remain on the run after fleeing into the Huntingtown area early Tuesday when Calvert County deputies disabled their vehicle with stop sticks following a reported break-in at a business in Dunkirk.
Deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau responded during the early morning hours Tuesday, July 28, to a reported burglary in progress at a business in Dunkirk.
As deputies arrived, they spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspected vehicle leaving the area and traveling south on Route 4.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies successfully deployed stop sticks, deflating the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle eventually came to a stop near Walton Road in Huntingtown.
Police said three suspects then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Investigators have not released descriptions of the suspects, and no arrests have been announced.
The investigation remains active.
Detectives are asking residents in the Huntingtown area to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. They are also seeking Ring doorbell or other surveillance video that may help identify the suspects or track their movements.
