Lynwood, CA – A mother and father are facing serious charges after their eight-year-old son was discovered dead in a cooler filled with ice. Destiny Harrison, 25, and Daniel Monzon, 25, were arrested alongside the boy’s grandmother, Ana Carcamo Zarceno, 45, in connection with the alleged abuse.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney announced the charges, which include murder, torture, and child abuse resulting in death. Monzon and Zarceno also face additional charges for being accessories after the fact.

Three other children, ages 16, 13, and nine months, were also removed from the home by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. These siblings are currently in protective custody.

Prosecutors stated Isaiah H. allegedly suffered long-term abuse before succumbing to his injuries on Thursday, October 24. His body was found several days later inside the cooler, which raised significant concerns from neighbors.

Bail for all three suspects has been set at $2 million, with each facing a potential sentence of 32 years to life if convicted. Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn commented on the situation, highlighting the tragedy and emphasizing the need for support for the surviving children.
