Cambridge Man Arrested for Theft and Resisting Arrest

Cambridge, MD — On June 19, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers responded to a theft report at the Great Wall restaurant on the 400 block of Washington St.

Employees reported that a male suspect stole the tip jar and fled the scene on a bicycle. Video footage identified the suspect as Jacob Robert Bryant, 23, of Cambridge, MD. Officers located Bryant in the 700 block of Pine St, where he refused to stop and resisted arrest, assaulting an officer before fleeing on foot.

Officers apprehended Bryant shortly after and transported him to CPD for processing. He was then turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. Bryant faces multiple charges, including theft less than $100, failure to obey a lawful order, disorderly conduct, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing and hindering.
