CAMDEN, N.J. — A 15-year-old male from Trenton has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 28-year-old Davinne Evans of Camden earlier this month, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to Cooper University Hospital at approximately 2:53 a.m. on Aug. 1 after a stabbing victim walked to the hospital and collapsed outside the parking garage. Evans was pronounced dead at approximately 3:49 a.m.
Crime Scene Located Near Broadway and Stevens Street
Investigators subsequently located the crime scene in the area of Broadway and Stevens Street in Camden, where detectives determined Evans had been fatally stabbed before making his way to the hospital.
The homicide investigation was conducted by detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Camden County Police Department.

Juvenile Arrested Following Investigation
During the investigation, detectives determined the juvenile was responsible for Evans’ death. The suspect was arrested on Aug. 22 and charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Because the defendant is a juvenile, authorities have not released his identity.
