Marmora, NJ- New Jersey Campground Owners and Outdoor Lodging Association is happy to announce that they have finally received clarification from the Governor’s office that campgrounds in New Jersey may reopen for business for their transient campers effective Friday, May 22nd.

Executive Director of New Jersey Campground Owners & Outdoor Lodging Association (NJCOA), Joann DelVescio said, “we have been working hard to get New Jersey campgrounds open for business for the past 11 weeks and we finally received good news from Senators Sweeney and Oroho this afternoon.” President of NJCOA, Karen Kymer stated, “Joann has put her heart and soul into getting our campgrounds open. We (the owners) have been calling, texting, messaging her 7 days a week about where we stand on opening. We couldn’t be happier to have her on our side.”

DelVescio said she has been in contact with the Governor’s office, AG’s office, Senators, Prosecutors, and other government officials almost every day since March 21st trying to explain camping is the best thing for everyone during this crisis. New Jersey campgrounds have on average 75 acres of nature just waiting to be enjoyed. The average campsite is 30 feet by 60 feet allowing campers to spread out and breathe.

While campgrounds are open, they will still be following CDC and State Department of Health suggestions to keep their staff and campers safe. Campgrounds may also have restrictions from their local municipalities so NJCOA is suggesting you call your favorite campground for further information.

The memories you make this year at New Jersey campgrounds will be different, but it is still treasured time together.
