Car Crashes Into Building in Cape May

CAPE MAY, NJ—This Thursday morning, Cape May firefighters responded to an emergency after a vehicle crashed into a residential building in the 800 block of Stockton Avenue just before 10 a.m.

Cape May Fire Department’s C Shift, including crews from Engine 51 and Rescue 51, arrived to find a vehicle embedded in the rear of a raised cottage, causing significant damage to the structure’s supports. To prevent potential collapse, firefighters quickly shored up the building.

Officials from CMC Rust and the Construction Official were present to assess and address the damage. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately one and a half hours, ensuring the structure’s safety before clearing the scene. The incident did not result in any injuries.
