Carport Fire Spreads to Home in Cecil County

EARLVILLE, MD – A vehicle fire investigation is currently active following an early Wednesday morning incident at a residence in Earlville, Cecil County.

The fire was reported at 4:33 a.m. at 110 Circle Drive, involving a single-story family home.

The fire originated in the area of a golf cart located in the attached carport of the dwelling.

The Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company responded promptly, with 40 firefighters working to control the blaze within 1.5 hours. Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths reported.

Damage estimates include $175,000 to the structure and an additional $25,000 to contents within the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.
