CDC Director Rochelle Walensky this week officially confirmed that the omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus is not as deadly as the delta variant, but because there are significantly more cases, death rates are anticipated to climb. The statement comes after some Supreme Court justices claimed omicron was just as deadly as delta as the court hears a request to overturn Joe Biden’s public sector and large business COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
