Charles County woman’s lucky numbers land her a $50K prize

HUGHESVILLE, MD — A Charles County woman couldn’t believe her eyes after discovering she won a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 prize in the Nov. 17 drawing.

The longtime lottery player, who purchased her ticket at Jimmies Wine & Spirit on Brandywine Road, initially thought there was a mistake when she scanned her ticket at the store. She wiped her glasses multiple times, convinced she was seeing the wrong message.

Her winning numbers came from a mix of birth dates and random selections. The government employee, who had never won anything close to $50,000 before, plans to use part of the winnings for home improvements and save the rest.

Jimmies Wine & Spirit will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
