Columbus police seek public’s help in fatal shooting investigation

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are asking for assistance in solving a homicide that occurred late Tuesday night, leaving one person dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Cole Street and Rhodes Avenue at approximately 11:18 p.m. on December 4 after receiving an unspecified complaint. Upon arrival, first responders found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The individual was transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff attempted life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Columbus Division of Police.
