CONWAY, S.C. — A Conway woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery and assault charges connected to two violent incidents that occurred on the same day in the Myrtle Beach area, Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced.
Lashenda Lucas, 39, pleaded guilty Monday to strong-armed robbery and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. The negotiated plea was accepted by Circuit Court Judge Benjamin Culbertson, who sentenced Lucas to 15 years on each charge, with the sentences to run concurrently.
Victims Targeted in Two Separate Attacks
According to prosecutors, the first attack occurred on April 9, 2025, at Bathsheba Park in the Myrtle Beach area.
Authorities said Lucas confronted a victim, telling the person, “You owe me money.” She then forced the victim to empty the contents of a purse onto the ground, punched the victim twice in the back of the head, stole prescription medication, and fled the scene. Police later presented the victim with a six-person photo lineup, and the victim identified Lucas as the suspect.

Victim Stabbed Multiple Times
Prosecutors said the second incident occurred later that same day near a convenience store close to Bathsheba Park.
Investigators said Lucas confronted another victim, again claiming the individual owed her money. During the confrontation, she allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the chest and cut the victim’s neck. The victim escaped and ran to a nearby home, where the homeowner called police and emergency medical personnel.
Three-Strikes Law Could Bring Life Sentence
Under South Carolina law, Lucas also received a strike under the state’s three-strikes statute.
Prosecutors said any future conviction for another qualifying serious offense could result in a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Assistant Solicitor Delbert Leasure prosecuted the case.
“We appreciate officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department investigating the separate incidents and bringing this defendant to justice for these crimes,” Leasure said.
