Costco theft under $100 sparks search for suspects in North Plainfield

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals captured on surveillance video stealing nearly $100 worth of clothing from a busy Costco on Route 22 East late Tuesday afternoon.

The theft occurred around 5:23 p.m. at the North Plainfield warehouse store. According to investigators, the suspects—a white male and a white female believed to be in their 20s or 30s—were seen leaving the store with merchandise they did not pay for. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $99.96.
