County Adds Finishing Touches to South New Prospect Road Widening

County road contractors are finishing up the road widening project on South New Prospect Road in Jackson Township this week. The project, credited to Ocean County Commissioner Frank Sadeghi, by local officials was started to ease traffic conditions by adding a center turn lane for both lanes of traffic.

Jackson Councilmembers Nino Borrelli and Mordy Burnstein thanked the commissioners and Sadeghi for prioritizing the project.

In the past, county road projects in Jackson often sat on the drawing board for years, sometimes decades, if at all.

“I want to thank Commissioner Sadeghi for putting Jackson residents back on the radar at the county and for addressing the needs of all Jackson residents,” Burnstein said today. “This project was long overdue and eases one of the town’s frequent points of congestion.”

Borrelli and Burnstein, who worked with the county on the project both agreed this was an important upgrade and noted there will be other improvements coming to Jackson Township in the coming months.

“Our good working relationship with our Board of Commissioners at the county level ensures that we are getting a fair shake at county funding going forward,” the pair said. “We look forward to Jackson’s county infrastructure finally getting the attention it deserves.”
