Couple Found Dead in New Milford Home, Investigation Ongoing

NEW MILFORD, NJ – On Saturday, officers from the New Milford Police Department made a grim discovery during a welfare check at a private residence on Myrtle Avenue. The bodies of one male and one female were found, both later pronounced deceased.

The names of the deceased are currently being withheld until family members can be notified. It remains unclear what led to the officers conducting the welfare check or the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The investigation is in its early stages and is jointly conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the New Milford Police Department. Chief Jason Love is leading the investigation on behalf of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, while Chief Brian Clancy is overseeing the investigation from the New Milford Police Department.
