CRANFORD, NJ – At around 3:00 AM yesterday morning, the Cranford Police Department responded to a reported residential burglary on Crane Parkway. The homeowner, alerted by their dog, discovered a main-level window had been removed. Surveillance footage revealed three suspects arriving in a white SUV at about 2:29 AM, with one staying in the vehicle while two others attempted to enter the house.

The suspects initially tried to enter through the locked front door, then moved to a side window, where one used a crowbar to gain entry. Several items were stolen from the home, which was occupied at the time of the incident.

Officers noted that two BMWs were parked on the property during the burglary. The Cranford Police Department, along with neighboring agencies in Union County, have observed an increase in BMW thefts. Residents are advised to secure both their vehicles and homes, remove keyfobs from parked vehicles, and ensure their security cameras are functional.
