BAYONNE, NJ—A U.S. citizen, aged 57, was airlifted in a dramatic rescue operation by the Coast Guard from the Symphony of the Seas cruise ship. The incident occurred in the Caribbean Sea, southwest of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, on March 14, 2024.

The Coast Guard deployed an MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter to medevac the passenger, who required urgent medical attention. Following the successful rescue, the individual was transported to a local hospital in Puerto Rico to receive a higher level of care.
