Cumberland Police Arrest Woman for Disturbing the Peace and Assault

CUMBERLAND, MD — The Cumberland Police Department reported the arrest of Cassandra Kay Porter, 42, following an incident on yesterday in the 200 block of Virginia Ave.

Responding to a disturbance call, officers arrived to find Porter engaging in disruptive behavior. She was observed screaming and throwing items in a public area. When approached by the officers, Porter reacted aggressively, throwing soda at one of them. Despite being ordered to stop, she attempted to flee on foot.

As a result of her actions, Porter was apprehended and is now being held at the Allegany County Detention Center Central Booking Unit. She awaits her initial appearance on charges of Disturbing the Peace-Loud Noise and Assault in the Second Degree.
