September 22, 2024

Cumberland, MD – Cumberland Police officers executed multiple arrest warrants on Thursday, leading to the detention of Thomas Eggleston and Chandler Rhodes.

On Thursday, officers served an arrest warrant on Thomas Eggleston following an incident that occurred on Wednesday. The officers initially responded to a residence on Central Avenue to serve Eggleston with the warrant. After making contact with him through an upstairs window and being refused entry, the apartment resident confirmed that no one had permission to be inside. Eggleston was subsequently found inside the apartment and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he was served an additional arrest warrant.

Thomas Eggleston, age 29, of Cumberland, Maryland, faces multiple charges including Burglary 4th degree, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey, and six counts of obstructing.

In a separate incident, officers served an arrest warrant on Chandler Rhodes, also on Thursday. The District Court of Maryland had issued the arrest warrant following an assault incident reported on September 16. Officers responded to Decatur Street for the reported assault and found two individuals involved.

The victim accused Rhodes of punching him in the back of the head.
