CUMBERLAND, MD — A Cumberland woman is facing a criminal charge after police say she contacted a person despite being prohibited from doing so under a protective order.
According to the Cumberland Police Department, officers served a criminal summons on Wednesday, July 15, to 28-year-old Candes Davey Mershon of Cumberland.
The summons stems from an incident reported on Tuesday, July 7, at a residence in the 100 block of Marion Street.
Police allege Mershon contacted a protected individual, violating the conditions of a previously issued protective order.
Mershon was charged with violating a protective order.
The charge is an allegation, and Mershon is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
