Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department has apprehended a suspect linked to a knife assault in Northwest, demonstrating the department’s ongoing commitment to public safety and effective law enforcement.

On March 13, around 1:55 p.m., the assailant targeted an individual in the 1700 block of Lamont Street, employing a knife in the assault before escaping the scene. The victim received prompt medical attention at a nearby hospital for injuries deemed not life-threatening, highlighting the dangerous nature of the encounter.

In a significant breakthrough, detectives concluded their investigation on March 17, leading to the arrest of 18-year-old Christian Martinez from Northwest, D.C. Martinez faces charges of Assault with Intent to Kill, marking a critical step in addressing violent crime within the community.
