D.C. Police Department investigating Monday afternoon shooting

Shooting Investigation Underway in Northeast DC, Police Seek Public's Assistance

Washington, DC – D.C. Metro Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 1500 block of Maryland Ave, NE on Monday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police Department has issued an alert for a Black male suspect, who was last seen fleeing toward Neal St, NE.

According to the MPD, the suspect was wearing a red hoodie with cartoon characters on it, a black mask, and black jeans. He is believed to be armed with a handgun and should not be approached by the public under any circumstances.

Police did not release any information regarding victims at this time. No further information has been provided by the D.C. Metro Police Dept.
