WASHINGTON, D.C. – A homicide investigation is underway in Southeast D.C. after a shooting on Wednesday evening.
Officers from the Washington D.C. Metro Police Department responded just before 7 pm to the 1200 block of Sumner Road following a report of gunfire. Officers were then alerted to a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital. Despite all efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Justin Garland of Southeast, D.C.
