Washington, D.C.—A Sunday afternoon shooting in Southeast D.C. resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man, prompting an investigation by the police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting on 37th Place Southeast, near 37th Street Southeast and Ridge Road Southeast, just after 2:10 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man, identified as Jerry Hardy III of Southeast, on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for a gray Nissan sedan in connection to the shooting. The vehicle has silver mirrors, tinted windows, and a Maryland license plate.
