Head on crash turns deadly on quiet Parkton road

Parkton, MD — A midday collision on a Baltimore County roadway left one driver dead after a vehicle crossed the center line and slammed into an oncoming truck, police said.

The crash occurred April 15 around 12:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of Mt. Carmel Road, where officers responded to reports of a serious collision.

Investigators determined a 2011 Honda CR-V traveling eastbound crossed over the center line and collided with a 2004 Dodge Dakota traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 64-year-old Lawrence Martin Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Dakota was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Baltimore County Police said members of the department’s Crash Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
