Deadly Shooting on Stanton Road in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – A homicide investigation is underway in Southeast Washington following a fatal shooting early Saturday morning. A Seventh District officer discovered a vehicle parked partially on the sidewalk at the intersection of Stanton Road and Mississippi Avenue at 4:12 AM.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, the officer found 35-year-old Christian Elsberry of Clinton, MD, inside, unconscious and not breathing, with gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS confirmed there were no signs of life, and Elsberry was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is seeking any information related to the incident.
