Deadly stabbing in Trenton as Hamilton man dies at hospital

TRENTON, NJ — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening in Trenton, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old Hamilton man, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday.

According to the Mercer County Homicide Task Force (MCHTF), Jermaine Scott arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center around 7:05 p.m. on May 14 with a stab wound to the abdomen. He had been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.

Scott was rushed into surgery but succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward, prosecutors said.

The investigation is being led by the MCHTF in coordination with the Trenton Police Department. No arrests have been made, and officials have not released information regarding a suspect or motive.

Authorities seek information as homicide probe continues

Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey confirmed the homicide and said the investigation remains active. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.
