Deadly Vehicle Fire in Manchester Township Investigated

MANCHESTER TWP, PA — A deadly vehicle fire was investigated by the Northern York County Regional Police Department late Wednesday night. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Pin Oak Dr. in Manchester Township at approximately 11:50 PM.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by the York Area United Fire and Rescue team. Tragically, Thomas Rooney, aged 55, was found deceased inside the vehicle.

Witnesses reported seeing Rooney repeatedly entering the minivan and revving the engine since 10:00 PM. The vehicle sustained no other damage and no other property was affected.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of a Northern York County Regional Police Fire Investigator and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal. However, the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
