Delaware State Police investigate fatal three-vehicle crash near Millsboro

MILLSBORO, DEL. — A three-vehicle collision near Millsboro on Friday evening left one woman dead and another man seriously injured, Delaware State Police confirmed.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:56 p.m. on December 6, 2024, at the intersection of Coolspring Road and Harbeson Road. A Ram Promaster traveling westbound on Coolspring Road failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the driver’s side of a southbound Nissan Sentra on Harbeson Road. Debris from the collision hit a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing minor damage.

The driver of the Nissan, an 86-year-old Millsboro man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. His passenger, a 79-year-old Millsboro woman, was also hospitalized but later died from her injuries. Authorities are withholding her name pending notification of her family.

The driver of the Ram Promaster, a 29-year-old Salisbury, Maryland man, suffered minor injuries but declined transport to the hospital. The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old man from Lincoln, Delaware, was unharmed.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
