Deli run turns golden for Powerball player in Yonkers

YONKERS, NY — A lucky Powerball player in Yonkers is $50,000 richer after purchasing a third-prize-winning ticket for Saturday night’s drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The ticket was sold at D J & C Deli, located at 839 Mile Square Road. It matched four white balls and the red Powerball, securing the third-tier prize.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing was held at 10:59 p.m. The game selects winning numbers from one to 69, with the Powerball drawn from a separate field of one to 26.

The identity of the winner has not been released. Lottery officials reminded players that prizes may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

Powerball continues to pump money into New York education

The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.8 billion to public schools in the last fiscal year, remains the most profitable lottery in North America.
