Two people reported being attacked during dispute inside Paca Kentucky Avenue residence
CUMBERLAND, MD — An argument over dirty dishes escalated into an alleged family assault inside a Cumberland home Sunday, leaving two people reporting they had been attacked and a local man jailed without bond, according to Cumberland Police.
Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Paca Kentucky Avenue after receiving a report of an assault.
Inside the home, officers contacted two people who said a family member had assaulted them during an argument concerning dirty dishes, police said.
Officers then spoke with the suspect, who told them he had assaulted the two people following the argument, according to the department’s press release.
Police arrested Steven William McDonald of Cumberland and charged him with second-degree assault.
McDonald was taken before a District Court commissioner for an initial appearance and then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
