Donald Trump Named Time Magazine Person of the Year

Donald Trump has clinched Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2024 in a political twist that feels straight out of a reality TV finale. This marks his second time snagging the title, the first being in 2016 after his initial presidential victory.

Time’s editor-in-chief, Sam Jacobs, didn’t mince words on NBC’s “Today” show, stating that Trump was chosen because “for better or for worse, [he] had the most influence on the news in 2024.” Jacobs highlighted Trump’s “historic comeback” and his role in “reshaping the American presidency and reordering American politics.”

“This is a tremendous honor,” the President said. “It’s really been something special, by Time Magazine, getting this honor for the second time, I think I like it better this time.”

Trump’s 2024 journey was anything but dull. He not only secured a decisive election victory but also survived two assassination attempts, underscoring his resilience in the political arena.

“The media is getting better,” he said. “If not, we can take them on again.”

Trump also criticized Time Magazine for some of its past covers against him.

He rang the bell to open the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday.

This accolade places Trump among a select group of individuals who’ve been honored multiple times by Time. His influence on American politics remains undeniable, as he continues to be a central figure in shaping the nation’s direction.

As Trump prepares to return to the Oval Office, the world watches with bated breath, anticipating the next chapter in this ongoing political saga.
