Double Homicide Investigation in North Carolina: Man Allegedly Kills Wife and Friend, Sends Disturbing Photo

Authorities in North Carolina have arrested a man in connection with a double homicide after he allegedly shot both his wife and another man, sending a photo of one of the victims to their spouse.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the tragic incident, which occurred on the morning of Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Woodleaf, NC.

At approximately 8:42 AM, Amanda Burr called 911, reporting that her friend, Jonathan Davon Freeman, had sent her a picture of her husband, Bryan Burr, dead in their home. Amanda also informed authorities that Jonathan’s wife, Teri Freeman, was also deceased at the scene.

Deputies responded to the residence at 1212 Old Oak Lane, where they found Jonathan still present. Upon entry, they confirmed both Bryan Burr and Teri Freeman were dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

After obtaining a search warrant for the property, detectives gathered evidence and discovered incriminating statements made by Jonathan Freeman to several individuals, where he confessed to the murders. He has since been charged with two counts of murder and is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center. Freeman’s first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th.

Jonathan Freeman is a resident of Lexington, NC, where he lived with his wife, Teri.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Lieutenant Ryan Barkley at (704) 216-8711.
