Double shooting leaves two hospitalized in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — Two men were hospitalized after being shot Thursday evening near 1st Street and M Street NE, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The shooting occurred around 5:05 p.m., when MPD officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. When police arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

As of Thursday night, police had not released any suspect information or possible motives in the case.
