D&R Canal Towpath Closed for Bridge Work in Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ – The D&R Canal towpath at Washington Road will be closed starting 7 a.m. Monday, October 30, until 11:30 p.m. Friday, November 3.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be unable to proceed past Washington Road from either direction on the towpath. Entry to the towpath from Washington Road heading north toward Harrison Street will also be restricted. However, access will remain open for those moving southbound on Washington Road toward Alexander Street.

The closure is required for bearing work under the Washington Road Bridge spanning the D&R Canal between Faculty Road and Tiger Lane. While work on the bridge is approaching completion, a specific date for reopening has not been confirmed.
