A 46-year-old man was struck on East Patapsco Avenue early Wednesday and died after being rushed to a hospital
BALTIMORE, MD – A driver struck a 46-year-old pedestrian on East Patapsco Avenue before dawn Wednesday and fled before police arrived, leaving the critically injured man behind in a hit-and-run that later turned fatal.
The collision occurred at approximately 5:57 a.m. in the 400 block of East Patapsco Avenue, according to Baltimore Police.
Southern District patrol officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck and found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital.
The man later died from his injuries, police said.
The vehicle involved in the collision left the scene before officers arrived.
Police have not released a description of the vehicle or information about the driver.
The victim’s identity was also not disclosed in Wednesday morning’s advisory.
Detectives with the department’s Crash Team are investigating the fatal hit-and-run.
No arrest had been announced in the information released by police.
