Drug and Weapon Charges Laid After Utica Police Respond to Reported Shooting

Utica, NY – Utica Police units were dispatched to a residence on Barton Ave after a female reported being shot at during an attempt to retrieve property on an afternoon in May. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the victim’s claim, leading to the detention of multiple individuals and the discovery of firearms and narcotics at the scene. A search warrant was later executed at the residence to locate further evidence.

Inside the home, officers identified a female who was detained for investigation and discovered a loaded handgun, rifles, ammunition, cocaine, methamphetamine, controlled substance pills, and drug paraphernalia in plain view.

The collected evidence was then transported to the Utica Police Department for further processing. Following the search, two individuals were charged with criminal possession of weapons and controlled substances, among other offenses, as a result of the investigation. The suspects were identified as Eric Augusto and Amanda Abraham of Utica.
