Drug Dealer Arrested in East Fishkill for Fentanyl Spiked Cocaine

October 17, 2024

East Fishkill, NY – The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force has reported investigating the sale of cocaine mixed with fentanyl in East Fishkill, resulting in the arrest of a suspected dealer.

The investigation by Drug Task Force Agents was initiated following a request from the East Fishkill Police Department. This request came after a fatal auto accident on September 12 linked to the presence of narcotics. The substance found with the deceased was tested, revealing a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl.

Through further inquiry, agents identified Joseph M. Kundrat, 32, as the individual who allegedly sold the narcotics. Kundrat was apprehended on September 30 after he voluntarily turned himself in at the East Fishkill Police Department. He faces a charge of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a Class B felony.

Kundrat was arraigned in East Fishkill Justice Court and subsequently released, as mandated by New York State Law. The East Fishkill Police Department continues to investigate the accident and may bring additional charges against Kundrat.
