Drugged Out Suspect Aims Rifle at Philadelphia Police From Atop Abandoned Church Steeple

Philadelphia, PA – A barricade situation took place at 700 E Cornwall St in the 25th District.

At approximately 8:12 PM, officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a white male, believed to be under the influence of narcotics, standing on the steeple of a church.

Upon arrival, the individual pointed a long gun at the officers, prompting the declaration of a barricade situation at 8:41 PM.

SWAT and Tactical Air units were deployed to the staging area at G & Westmoreland.

Authorities are worked to resolve the situation safely. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
