HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – A Hackettstown brewery disturbance led to the arrest of a Warren County man Sunday evening after police responded to reports of an intoxicated patron refusing to leave the property.
According to the Hackettstown Police Department, an officer patrolling Czig Meister Brewing, 106 Valentine Street, at approximately 5:14 p.m. was alerted to an intoxicated man who was refusing to leave the business. The suspect was identified as Marco Manteiro, 49, of Washington Township in Warren County.
Disturbance escalated after employees intervened
Police said Manteiro had been flagged by staff as needing to be cut off from alcohol service. Investigators said he then went to the brewery’s beer tent, blew a horn into employees’ faces, and directed profanity toward staff members.
Police did not elaborate on the horn.
After employees asked him to leave, authorities said Manteiro ran into the crowd. An officer located him a short time later and instructed him to leave the property, but he allegedly refused.
Arrest followed refusal to leave
When the officer advised Manteiro that he was being charged, police said he resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Manteiro was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
