April 2, 2025

South Stafford, VA – On Saturday evening, a 61-year-old man caused an accident and assaulted emergency personnel. The incident occurred on Warrenton and Cedar Grove Roads at approximately 8:11 p.m.

A Dodge Charger, containing a driver and two passengers, collided with a tractor-trailer, causing the trailer to spin out. The front passenger, Stanley Oliver Jr. from Warrenton, was identified as the cause of the crash. The driver had picked up Oliver while he was intoxicated.

As they traveled, Oliver grabbed the steering wheel, leading to the accident. All occupants were taken to a hospital for evaluation, although Deputy A.J. Charoenthep noted Oliver’s extreme intoxication. Controlled substances were found on Oliver during a search.

While being transported in an ambulance, Oliver assaulted Fire and Rescue staff but did not injure anyone. He was charged with multiple offenses, including DUI, possession of controlled substances, assault on rescue staff, child neglect, and driving without a license. Oliver is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
