Dumfries Man Charged for Abduction During Domestic Feud

DUMFRIES, Va. — A Dumfries man was arrested on Tuesday, August 20, following a domestic dispute at a residence on Hemlock Bay Road. The incident, which occurred around 5:00 p.m., led to the arrest of 36-year-old Brian Jose Prada.

According to the investigation, a verbal altercation between Prada and a 35-year-old female family member escalated into a physical confrontation.

During the incident, Prada allegedly grabbed the victim, pushed her to the ground, and then prevented her from leaving the residence. The victim eventually managed to escape and leave the premises. Minor injuries were reported, though the victim did not require medical treatment.

Following the investigation, officers arrested Prada at the scene. He has been charged with abduction and domestic assault and battery. Prada is currently being held without bond, and a court date is pending.

The authorities did not release a photograph of the accused.
